10/11/14 - cut short by rain - only open for 3 hours.

We were closed on the 4th due to weather but on Sunday the 5th we were able to open to a slow day.  We were treated by a visit from the NH Young Birders Club and our first Golden-crowned Kinglet.

GCKI - 1

BCCH - 0 + 1R (Banded the 28th) +1F (one of the 2 Foreign BCCH we've trapped from Wells returned)
GRCA - 1

Total: 4 B + 1 R + 1F, 4 Species

Relatively few visitors but treated to good conversation by some members of the public who had visited Appledore to watch banding before!
Our 2nd best day for the fall - highlights were the Mockingbird and our second Foreign Recovered Chickadee also banded in Wells Maine in 2012 originally.

COYE 2 + 1R (bird from the 27th)
BCCH 3 + 1 F - a SECOND bird from Wells Maine! The band is actually in sequence with the first we caught!

NOMO - 1

Total -12 B + 1R +1F, 7 species

September 27th

We were treated to a visit from the UNH Birding Club.  It was a nice day but the birds were slow.  Our first Blue Jay stole the show!

During Bioblitz on Sept 20th, 2014, OPBS banded:

MAWA 1
COYE 2
SOSP 1
BCCH - F
F= Foreign recovery!  This bird was banded in 2012 in Wells, ME as a hatch year bird - meaning this bird is 2 years old and has moved south in those 2 years!

We were closed due to weather on 9/21.
